Attendance & Punctuality

Attendance & Punctuality

At Colwick St Johns we are incredibly proud of our strong attendance figures, and this is testament to the excellent relationship that we have with our parents and carers who prioritise the attendance of their children.

Although it may sound ok if your child has 90% attendance, this means that they are missing half a day of school per week. Over one year this equates to a child missing 4 weeks of school and during the course of their education half a year of schooling would be lost.

All absence and lateness is recorded on your child’s school record and we monitor this information. Absences and lateness are followed up by our Attendance Officer, Miss Beresford. Remember that we are here to help! If you are having difficulties getting your child to school please come and talk to us.

The school day starts at:

8.45am

The school day finishes at:

15.15pm

Our Attendance Team

Miss Ireland and Miss Beresford play a vital role in promoting and ensuring high levels of attendance within the school. They monitor attendance data and work closely with pupils, families and staff to address any barriers to regular attendance. Miss Ireland and Miss Beresford also lead initiatives to foster a positive school culture around attendance and provide support to both pupils and parents to improve attendance outcomes.
